Our philosophy
Our career coaching philosophy includes:
Strengths-Based Coaching: The Career Drivers approach is to build on clients’ strengths, rather than focusing on their weaknesses. Clients learn to embrace their unique talents and use these skills as the basis for their growth. They are encouraged to follow their own paths and not a preconceived idea of what success looks like.
Crafting Creative Solutions: In today’s world, traditional, mapped out career paths are rare. The gig economy, artificial intelligence, changing demographics and unstable economics create a need for individuals to take ownership of their own career. Our coaches help clients focus on their talents, competencies and demonstrable achievements that are transferable from one role to another to gracefully handle the hurdles in a 21st-century career.
Focusing on How, not Why: Many people struggle with change. One way to support individuals through their transitions, is to focus on results. Instead of asking clients why they have not followed their passion, our coaches use tools to help clients move forward.
Building Resilience: The heart of the Career Drivers practice is strengthening resilience by encouraging clients to look at things in a new light and recognize that there are detours in every journey. The goal is to learn how to adapt quickly when life takes an unexpected turn—to see it as a serendipitous opportunity along the path.
As a BC based career development agency, all of our coaches follow the Code of Ethics laid out by the BC Career Development Association. To review this code, please visit their website: https://www.bccda.org/membership/code-of-ethics
